Hi! My name is Shae Fedorak and I am so excited that you are visiting my blog.
Since I was in the third grade, I have dreamed of becoming a teacher. Now here I am, halfway through the process of becoming one! I am very excited to share my love of working with children in my own classroom. My dream is to be known as the “colorful teacher”.
I love wearing colors, black, white and grey are okay sometimes but they are so boring. What child is not fascinated by colors really?! I have many dreams for my classroom and I cannot wait to make my dreams, a reality. Starting with having the brightest classroom so I can literally and metaphorically brighten my students lives!
Now a little more about me…! I have worked with kids for many years, through different volunteering experiences or different job positions, I know that this is the right career for me! I am extremely passionate about sports and fitness in youth. I have specifically coached basketball, volleyball and soccer. And I am going into my third summer working for the Sport & Wellness department at Medicine Hat College with the Rattler Camps. In the Rattler Camps, I get to teach my campers the importance of physical activity, and fundamental movement skills. Teaching youth, and inspiring youth to LOVE sports is what I love most about my job.
Prior to working with the Rattler Camps, I spent one summer working at the Medicine Hat College YMCA Day Camps, and one summer working at Eagles Nest Ranch. Eagles Nest Ranch was an amazing experience. It was an overnight camp and the campers arrived on Sunday afternoon and left Friday afternoon. This job taught me the value in forming lasting relationships with my campers.
My dream is to work at a small school, so I can watch “my” kids grow up from kindergarten to grade twelve. However, this is only a dream. I find so much importance in being a lifelong role model for my students and by teaching at a school where I watch them grow up and succeed, would be my dream job.
On top of my passion for Physical Activity and colors, I spend many of my nights creating in one form or another. Whether I am behind my camera, snapping photographs of friends, painting a new sign, or I am baking up a storm of cupcakes in the kitchen- at the end of the day, I love creating.
I cannot wait to create everyday with my students. To help them create. To motivate them to follow their passions. But most importantly, I cannot wait to be a lifelong role model for each of my students!
Thank you for reading & W E L C O M E to the Colorful Classroom Connection!
